Care Aware
Care Aware
This the name of four teams that play an invaluable part in the church’s pastoral ministry.
Baptism Support Team: Co-ordinators Ann & Roy Owen say: “Since last September we have had the pleasure of meeting nineteen new couples & sharing the gospel with them. Nearly all have had their babies baptised and we are grateful for our faithful helpers & three new volunteers. A group of singers made a new recording for our music at the service. Baptisms take place each month with the families invited to the following Praise God Together service when the children are welcomed into the church.”
Bereavement Visitors are the follow up ministry to funerals conducted by clergy/readers. When the next-of-kin live locally, the name is passed on to one of them who then gets in touch with a phone call and if requested, makes a visit. In some cases the link has continued with folk coming to Luncheon Club and to church. The annual Thanksgiving & Remembrance Service and tea has given opportunities to meet up again.
Care Team Meals, and many of them! The delivery of these has been greatly appreciated by young parents with growing families. Members have also been called upon for various practical tasks including dog walking!
Visiting Team The twelve visitors have continued to keep in regular contact with the older members of the congregation and those who can no longer get along to church. They have done this in many different ways, - tea parties, concerts, garden centres, - are a few of the special outings enjoyed as well as the chats over a cuppa in the home. The friendship, care and support all of these teams provide are greatly appreciated. For further details please contact Margaret Dack
