Working together

Opportunities are really emerging locally for working together across the churches for building up young people in their faith.

CIS – Christian Initiatives in Schools is a charity that employs a schools' worker that goes into the secondary schools, (state and fee paying) in Letchworth, Baldock and Stotfold. Our Youth Worker has linked in with Christopher Baker for the Lunch Club at Highfield School and Hubs (these clubs have now been established in all the secondary schools).

Over the past year several churches in the area have employed Youth and Children’s workers, many of whom are working alongside CIS. The youth workers across town meet regularly to pray and plan joint events.

2:67project - Clare has been working together with Mike Palin (the project lead) to help St Paul’s consider the way forward for our work with children and young people. Mike and Clare led an Encouragement morning in Feb 2009 which has laid the ground for considering how we can move forward, making more of the opportunities we have. Mike is happy to continue to offer support and advice to Clare and run sessions with the volunteers as needed. The 2:67 project runs termly training events for volunteers which St Paul’s volunteers are encouraged to attend. This project was set up to offer advice, support, encouragement, networking, resources and training in all areas of youth and children’s work across the whole St Albans Diocese area.
